OPENING OF THE FIRST “SOCIAL” DAIRY PRODUCTS COOPERATIVE IN TILOS
With great enthusiasm and the necessary ritual of Sanctification, the first cheese workshop for the production of organic dairy products opened in Tilos. The attendees had the opportunity to learn the secrets of cheesemaking as well as to taste the first “harvest” of organic feta produced by the cooperative.
A dream of years that came true. Tilos, in an operation to revive agricultural production, proceeded to install a Tyrobox®-type cheese dairy (a modern milk processing unit), thereby creating the first dairy cooperative in the island under the name “The Irinna of Tilos”.
An initiative of the Mayor of the island, Mrs. Maria Kamma-Aliferi, with the assistance of the International community through the Meinier - Tilos link and the support of Belgomilk.
Belgomilk, being socially aware, proceeded with another collaboration to support sensitive social groups, applauding and supporting similar efforts in the future.
